Introduction:
When I am talking about painter, the image that comes to my mind is of 2 types of painters. And these both types of painters use brushes and colors. Eventhough they uses same materials but there are lots of differences between them. Based on these differences, I’ll leave it up to you to identify which type of painter I am talking about.
- We all know that a person either does work out of passion or is willing to do any work due to some compulsion. The one is doing work because it is his/her hobby or passion and he/she proud of that. Another works out of compulsion perhaps because he has no other means of earnings and he might be ashamed of the work he does, rather than proud of it. (After all everything depends on a person. Because many people enjoy and many find even the work of their choice a burden.)
- The one paints a wall at risk of his life sometimes, while there is almost no risk in work done by another type of painter.
- The one draw something on a canvas(which is smaller than the wall size) as per his/her creativity or as per clients’ requirement while other one compulsory color the wall as per clients’ choice. However one is treated as labor and paid less money than the other one.

Till now you have read about two types of painters and you may have gotten a little emotional and you must have decided to treat the painters like in the second photo with respect(if you haven’t done so already). Now let’s talk a little about the types of painters seen in the first photo.
Types of Painters:
Generally, there are different types of painters due to their different types of skills such as some expert in painting on statues or clothes, some expert in painting with water colors or acrylic colors, some may expert in sketching like photorealism, spray painting, ink painting, some may expert in only sketching while some may expert in both sketching and painting. But I have categorized these type of painters (specifically self-trained or the person whose hobby is drawing) on the basis of general human qualities. It is just for fun.
Hyperactive:
Such people never sit idle. Either they may finish one painting and start another, or they may be working on several paintings and sketches at once.
Lazy Genius:
I read somewhere about lazy people that: ‘I don’t know why people hate lazy people, we didn’t even do anything.’ The second type is lazy painters like me, the complete opposite of the hyperactive. May it would be wrong to call them lazy, but it can be said mood dependent painter. They draw or create something best with creative ideas when in good mood.
Innovative:
This category is all about the painters who are able to put their imagination on paper or canvas with pencils and colors. I am specifically talking about the painters who have not taken professional training about sketching, painting etc. because nowadays, when everything is available on internet, this type of painters are very less.
Copycat/Imitator:
Almost all of us imitator because hardly anyone bother to think of something new own their own when everything is available on Google. Be it any competition like essay writing, drawing, elocution or making rangoli on Diwali or anything else, we look at our mobile first. When everything is available on the phone, who would bother with their brains? Definitely, this type of painters are creative.
Hence, we can’t neglect the talent of someone who can draw the same as real. This situation happen due to lack of training. When you have many creative ideas & but you don’t know how to put/draw it on paper then you take help of phone and try to copy drawings from it. Because your hobby is painting, sketching etc. Not every time they copy exactly what they have seen somewhere, sometimes they mix their creativity with existing idea and that’s our next type of painter adaptor.
Adaptor/ Synthesist:
Definitely, this type of painters are creative. They adapt the ideas of others. The word synthesist used for a person who adapt existing ideas. By modifying existing ideas they create new painting.
Speedy:
Many people are fast at work while many are slow. Some painters(both innovative & imitator) can quickly draw & paint anything.
Slow-paced:
Some painters(above all types other than speedy) are slow in drawing. Generally we think that lazy people are slow at work but that is not always the case. Some hyperactive can also be slow-paced who work slowly but steadily.
Conclusion:
No matter what type of painter you are from above types, one thing is common that you all are creative, draw well and you are happy when you spare time for your hobby.
